Nikki’s earliest memories of singing take her back to the age of three, spending hours in front of the TV memorizing the words to her favorite songs on MTV and VH1. Toni Braxton’s “Unbreak My Heart” became a familiar household tune after hearing Nikki sing it over and over again. That song is just the type of song (a song that evokes passion and vocal maturity) that started her down the path of noticeable talent attached to a dream of becoming a singer.

At the age of eleven, Nikki and her family traveled to Nashville, TN on vacation and visited The Grand Old Opry. She immediately identified with the style and sound of country music. “When I heard and saw Dolly Parton singing live, I just knew that I was born to be a country music star”, Nikki says as her memories and emotions transcend her back to that very moment of realization. “I had been taking singing lessons since I was eight years old, learning Broadway tunes that now seem common and just not what was in my heart. But when Dolly sang, my eyes popped wide open and I knew there was something special about country music. I was amazed. I was drawn to it.”

Upon returning home to New Jersey, Nikki soon found herself performing more frequently for various audiences at the recommendation of her vocal coach, Mr. Sal Dupree. At age ten, she sang “The Star Spangled Banner” for a hometown crowd of about 6000. Mr. Dupree suggested her talent for the local Breast Cancer Marathon and when the Mayor heard her voice, she was selected. She quickly discovered her interest in applying her talent to benefit charity events and says that she enjoys giving performances as a means of raising money to ultimately help others. Her singing performances, charity involvement and opportunities have exploded from there. From demos to cruise ship performances, from Atlantic City, NJ to Manhattan, NY, this rising young star has quite an impressive resume. You can hear her on The Hollywood Hooligans Rock CD (a fund raising music mix benefiting Kidz Helping Kidz), recordings with some of Dolly Parton’s musicians produced by Kent Wells, and her first single signed to country music label Rustic Records, Inc., “Cowboy”, which releases at the end of March, 2008.

From her own personal experiences being bullied and made fun of while pursuing her dreams at a young age, Nikki learned early in life to find ways of turning negative experiences into positive ones. Music is her passion, her outlet, her contribution, her gift, her life. She was asked by her school administration to speak at her eighth grade graduation and talk to her peers about what it means to have a dream and how it really can become reality. To stand and speak in front of the very peers who mocked her, encouraging them with some personal success already under her belt was not only rewarding but taught everyone in attendance something about themselves; when you are true to yourself, believe in yourself, and apply yourself, you can achieve your dream. She encourages everyone she meets to have a dream and go for it.

Over the past several years, Nikki has been inspired by LeAnn Rimes, Martina McBride, and more recently Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift. “These country artists motivate me. They keep improving and expanding and they make me work harder”, was the comment Nikki made when asked about her influences. She went on to say, “But I don’t think I sound like any of them. I think my voice is different. I want people to recognize my voice as being unique. I can’t wait for the day when a fan hears one of my new songs and says ‘that sounds like Nikki Britt’ ”.

Now signed to Rustic Records, Inc., Nikki has transitioned to home schooling as studio time and trips to Nashville have taken priority. Her first release, “Cowboy”, is sure to knock your boots off (or at least get them scootin’ on the dance floor). Attitude is written all over this one and the ladies are going to love singing along. It’s catchy, fun, flirtatious, up-tempo, honky tonk material and with Nikki’s vivacious sound and playful vocals, it’s sure to become one of the most memorable songs of 2008. This one will quickly climb its way to the top of the charts and bring her to the immediate attention of country music fans everywhere.

In addition to her love of and passion for country singing, Nikki writes, dances, plays piano and guitar, and has learned to sing in four additional languages; Spanish, French, Italian and Japanese. Wise beyond her years, she recognizes the popularity of country music in other countries and intends to become an international artist. While many artists will tour in other countries, she wants to be an artist that will sing to her fans in their native language.

Her priorities are definitely in order for success in her career! However, she also finds time to be a normal fourteen year old girl. She feels blessed to have a close family and enjoys spending time with her grandmother, parents and two brothers. And, of course, she always has time to hang out with her best friends to shop, swim, laugh and just do “girl stuff” together.

With unstoppable optimism and hard working determination, not to mention the sheer power, control and range in her voice, Ms. Nikki Britt is sure to become the “big country music star” that she has always dreamed of. This is a voice you won’t soon forget and a brilliant, young, beautiful performer that you’ll be anxious to see and hear more of!
