Jack Schneider (President)
Born in Anniston, AL, Jack attended Auburn University and
has been in the country music business for over 35 years.
While growing up in Anniston, Jack was a member of the
“Cripple Creek Boys” who were heard live on WHMA, every
Saturday afternoon. They also played the local Saturday
night square dances at Cheaha State Park.
Jack worked as an independent sales representative for the
Russell Corporation for over 30 years (1954-1986), prior to
starting Rustic Records. During Jack’s tenure at Russell,
his Nashville territory, consisting of nine states,
repeatedly outsold the New York, Chicago, Los Angeles,
Seattle and Dallas offices. Total sales from all offices
during Jack’s tenure (32 years) increased from $400,000 to
over $1 billion.
While at Russell (1967-1983), Jack was a songwriter
exclusively for Cedarwood Publishing (now part of Universal
Music Publishing Group), in Nashville, TN. He had songs
recorded by Grand Ole Opry stars such as Stonewall Jackson,
Jim Ed Brown, Kitty Wells, and Gary Stewart, to name a few.
Several of these songs charted in the Billboard Top 20 and
“This World Holds Nothing” hit the Top 10.
In 1979, Jack opened Rustic Records, Inc. after purchasing
Little Gem Music, a record label and publishing catalog
which had been associated with Little Jimmy Dickens. Success
followed with several artists charting and after a brief
hiatus, RRI was reactivated in 1999. Jack, as owner, is the
current president, overseeing the artist roster, song
selection, sales, and overall management of the company.
